| So I'm here in Belize, Central America, and even though they may not have a much money as us, they sure do know how to live, at least from what I see, and thats something us Americans need to learn how to do, or least I need to do. Until Next Time, funkyk51 | | |
| The video says it all. http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=ee73e63418003b47d7d5 Thank God for His Protection, Forgiveness and Grace as displayed through His Son Jesus Christ. Take care brothers and sisters, Kirk H. | | |
| So I started reading these books that I, in the past, would have deemed "Christian Self Help" books and completely shyed away from, but they are actually pretty good books. Check them out if you have time. "The Emotionally Healthy Church" - Peter Scazzero -essentially discusses how the church grows in the knowledge of the Word and in spiritual disciplines (prayer, fasting, worship, etc.) but doesn't grow so much emotionally (i.e., Tom can lead a bible study well, his prayers are awesome but he's always depressed, distant from others, and his relationships are always shallow). This book offers pratical pointers on asking the why questions to get to the root of our issues for the sake of growing us to be emotionally mature children of God. "Boundaries" - Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend -book takes you through a biblical viewpoint of of setting boundries for your life. | | |
| I was speaking to one of the high schoolers from my church about the goals that he would like to accomplish as he lives his life. He told me what his number one goal was and said that it was impossible. I quickly retorted and said that it would be hard to do, but not impossible. Hard is not impossible! Sure it was a nice thing to say, and you know, I think its true. How many of our goals have we laid by the way side because pursuing it got so hard that we deemed it "impossible"? How many things have we accomplished that we, at first, deemed "impossible"? What I'm saying is simply, HARD IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE! Don't lose sight of your dreams, though the task ahead may be hard and agonizing, the fact remains, its not impossible! Keep your head up brothers and sisters! Success is just on the other side of that hill. Until Next Time, Kirk H. | | |
| So one of my co-workers let me borrow one of his CDs because it had some R&B song that I wanted to listen to, "Always and Forever" (by Heatwave...no the one on Napoleon Dynamite...GOSH!). Anyway, as I was flipping through the tracks, I came across this one song by sung by Musiq Soulchild, "Don't Change." This song has a deep message about one man's UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for his wife. Check out the video and lyrics. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=028ZV8uqlEk) 1--Fellas with girlfriends, its an awesome song to dedicate to your girl, and maybe even a gut check to see how much MORE you need to love her. 2--Single Fellas, these words and lyrics are a gut check to see whether you're in lust or in love. 3--Ladies, if your man ain't hacking it, throw this song at him and have a serious talk, communication is key, as y'all know. 4--Most importantly, enjoy the song and share it with another friend.
